About us

Lynn Browne teaches a seminar on central banking at Brandeis University, to Masters students at the International Business School and to undergraduates in the Department of Economics. From 1975 to 2011 she worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, most recently (2001 to 2011) as Executive Vice President and Economic Advisor. From 1993 to 2001, she was the Director of Research at the Bank and she oversaw monetary policy analysis and scholarly research. Before that Dr. Browne focused on economic issues affecting the New England economy; and in the 1980s, she wrote frequently about the transformation of the New England economy and the shift from manufacturing to services in the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s periodical, the New England Economic Review.  She has a Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
